Hydraulic Design Engineer

Your prime focus will be to provide overall design expertise and project management in the fields of Hydraulics, Fluid Power and Pneumatic based Test Equipment. You will be responsible for the overall design of various hydraulic test stands and/or fabrication programs. You’ll oversee and coordinate the preliminary and final design of hydraulic test stands and other equipment, oversee the test and check out of the finished items. Your responsibilities will include sizing and selecting hydraulic components, drive and control systems and generating detailed test procedures and test reports. Project management experience will be essential as well as AutoCAD (Inventor a +) BS degree a must MS preferred. Must have a thorough understanding of engineering processes including statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, hydraulics and pneumatics, instrumentation and data acquisition and control. Your prime focus will be to provide overall design expertise of various automated test equipment and/or fabrication programs. You’ll oversee and coordinate the design, procurement of required components, and fabrication of test fixtures and/or test equipment and oversee the test and check out of the finished items. In addition you’ll generate detailed test procedures and test reports. Must have a thorough understanding of engineering processes including statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, hydraulics and pneumatics, instrumentation and data acquisition and control. Must be able to interpret detailed engineering drawings including hydraulic and electrical schematics. Must have strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and MS Project. AutoCAD Inventor a plus. LABVIEW PROGRAMMER/DEVELOPER
If you’re ready for the challenge of working for a dynamic organization, Dayton T. Brown, Inc. has a career opportunity available for a take charge, motivated Labview Programmer
You’ll program complete applications for custom hydraulic test stands including but not limited to; system automation, data acquisition, process control, safety, security, maintainability, operability, GUI design and report generation. Development involves both new code generation and code conversion from legacy programming to a LabView environment. Also you will participate in system design including selection of sensors and data acquisition hardware. Occasional travel is required for the startup or on-going support of equipment.
• A BSEE, BSME or BSCS degree required
• 3+ years solid experience developing, testing and debugging software programs. Minimum of 2 years using LabView. (Should be up to date with latest version of LabView currently 8.0 or higher). Also familiarity with Lab Windows.
• Able to construct Macros, Recipes, and scripts for use with LabView in performing automatic test functions.
• Familiarity of technical concepts relating to Instrumentation, Data Acquisition, Signal Conditioning & Sensors.
• Familiarity with National Instruments, Real-time & FPGA Programming.
• A good understanding of instrument communication protocols like RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, GPIB, USB, or MODBUS, etc…
• Hands-on experience with development using Visual BASIC, ActiveX, SQL and other programming languages.
Must be a motivated, focused team player with professional attitude, outlook, and exceptional work ethic. You’ll be working independently with minimal supervision and as an integral part of an engineering team focused on delivering solutions to the customer quickly and efficiently.

Non-Destructive Inspector

This N.D.T. (Non-Destructive Technician) position requires Ultrasonic Flaw Detection experience on castings, forgings and composite materials. Additional responsibilities may include Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Partical Examinations, Eddy Current, Dimensional Inspection and Metallurgical sample preparation.
The ideal candidate would have at least ten years experience in non-destructive inspection techniques and have an A.A.S degree or the equivalent, be nondestructive inspection certified in Level III (prefered) or Level II by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing with experience in SNT-TC-1A practices.

Stress Anaylst

Brown, Inc.’s world class Engineering and Test Division has a career opportunity available for a take-charge, hands-on, motivated Stress Analyst. This position provides an opportunity to diversify your skills beyond analysis.
You’ll perform structural analysis of commercial and aerospace hardware structures, fatigue test fixtures, test plan and test report preparation along with direct customer interface. You should have at least 10 years exp. in structural analysis, fatigue, fracture mechanics and dynamic stress analysis. You should be familiar with conceptual design of structures, local paths, test concept development, and test plan preparation in conjunction with customer interface support test data. Working knowledge of ANSYS and AutoCAD Inventor a plus. A BSME or BSCE a must.
