METALLURGICAL ENGINEER
Dayton T. Brown, Inc.’s Engineering and Test Division has an exciting opportunity available for a motivated, self-starting individual to be part of our engineering team.
You’ll be responsible for performing detailed failure investigations of structural components used in rotary and fixed wing aircraft (military and commercial, failure analysis of electronic components, test programs in corrosion fatigue, corrosion analysis and control, wear/abrasion evaluations, coating replacement evaluations, development of advanced non-destructive evaluation techniques and extensive conformance to blueprint inspections for aerospace components. In addition you’ll prepare detailed technical reports documenting the results of your investigations. You should have thorough working knowledge of alloy microstructures, phase diagrams, and structure property correlations with respect to mechanical behavior of metallic materials. Knowledge of aerospace alloys and aerospace component manufacturing methods is a definite plus. Must be able to use standard metallurgical equipments such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (D+EDS), Metallograph, etc. You must be a US Citizen or permanent resident (“green card” holder) to be considered for this position.
Potential candidates much have a Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering as well as an advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with more than 3 years work experience in industrial and/or consulting work in failure investigations.
